The principal of Norsigian Law Office is Hrant "Hud" Norsigian, Jr. Mr. Norsigian has over 21 years of experience representing the legal needs of his clients. Mr. Norsigian is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri and focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury litigation, motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation, business/commercial litigation, property damage litigation, estate planning, probate, wills, trusts and powers of attorney, and DUI and traffic matters. Mr. Norsigian was born and raised here in St. Clair County and graduated with honors from Belleville East High School in 1981. Mr. Norsigian graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis in 1985 receiving his bachelor of science degree with a major in mathematics and a minor in economics. While an undergraduate, Mr. Norsigian was named to the Dean's List several times, earned three varsity athletic awards in baseball, and was an Academic All-American Candidate in 1985. Mr. Norsigian went on to law school at Washington University School of Law, graduating in 1988 (Juris Doctor degree), Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Norsigian graduated in the top five per cent of his class, and was also honored with membership into the Order of the Coif (the legal equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa). The American Jurisprudence Award was also bestowed upon him for earning the top grade in Criminal Law. Mr. Norsigian was an Associate Editor of the prestigious Washington University Law Quarterly, where his legal article, Note, Community Property and the Problem of Migration, 66 Wash. U.L.Q. 773 (1988), was published. Mr. Norsigian is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the St. Clair County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, and an Honored Member of Strathmore’s Who’s Who. Mr. Norsigian has served several terms on the Parish Council of Holy Virgin Mary and Shoghagat Armenian Church in Swansea, Illinois, and is a two-time Parish Council Chairman. Some of Mr. Norsigian's professional accomplishments include a $4.271 Million Commercial Litigation Verdict in Jackson County, Missouri and being named a Recipient of one of the Top Ten Verdicts in Missouri for the year 1997. Over the years, Mr. Norsigian has represented many individuals in personal injury matters, and has been awarded millions of dollars to compensate his clients. Mr. Norsigian's practice, however, includes more diverse areas of law. For example, in conjunction with the Mid-America Airport/Scott Joint Use Project, Mr. Norsigian defended several landowners in Eminent Domain lawsuits, earning jury verdicts in excess of $1.2 Million cumulatively. Mr. Norsigian has also developed a sub-specialty representing citizens who have incurred property damage from municipal sanitary sewer back up. Over the years, Mr. Norsigian has collected well over $1 Million for his sewer back up clients. Recently, Mr. Norsigian was honored to be an author for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Norsigian wrote a chapter for the IICLE's Causes of Action book entitled, Challenges to Taking. Challenges to Taking, Chapter 43, Illinois Causes of Action--Elements, Forms & Winning Tips, Estate, Business & Non-Personal Injury Actions (IICLE, 2008).
